Brief Answer:
Removal of scar is difficult.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.

After a hip replacement, the scarring can cause nerve irritation or compression and can lead to extensive pain. Local steroid injections can help in decreasing the inflammation around the nerve and can help in decreasing any further growth of the scar.

The removal of the scar with an arthroscope is a difficult procedure and can be done only with minor scarring.

Such nerve related pains can be relieved with medicines like Pregabalin and Gabapentin. You can get these prescribed after consulting a neurologist.

I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
