Brief Answer:
Regarding your nail concern

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask a doctor service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

There can be several causes of hard nails - notably fungal infection which is the most common cause, psoriasis, diabetes which itself predisposes to nail fungal infections, thyroid and underlying conditions of heart, lungs and liver - wherein there is thickening and discoloration of the nail plate.

I request you to kindly upload a few images of the affected nails in " Reports Section" so that I am able to have a look, assess and guide you accordingly.

take care.
