Hard Movable Bump On The Back Of The Neck. What Could It Be?

Thanks for posting your query.
Your symptoms most likely resemble a skin infection or abscess rather than what you are scared of , a skin cancer.
The reason being the acute history, the presentation i.e starting with a pimple and increasing to a lump in a couple of days , and neck soreness .
Sometimes during the start of a infection there is little or no pus formation which may not appear on pressing the pimple like papule. With time the pus formed may cause swelling and pain and increase in the dimensions of the lesion. If it is very superficial then it can be drained by pressing but if deeper in skin i.e dermis then it won't, therefore causing the lump.Usually it would be a firm fluctuant swelling rather than hard but if healing with fibrosis it may turn hard.
Since it has increased or worsened rather than flatten or resolve it is advisable to take antibiotics and antiinflammatory drugs as per your doctors prescription. This can prevent further worsening which might then require an incision and drainage procedure. So the earlier treated, the better the relief.
Kindly consult your doctor or dermatologist for the same .
Hope I have answered your query.
