no pain, Noticied 2 weeks ago. I scratch my head a lot and have open sores but not sure I scratched there. My doctor told me folliculitis. I'm worried about any form of skull-based tumour/cancer. What does this present like? Should I be worried about tumour? She said I did not need any scans and it will gradually go away. Very common occurrence. Just wondering if you think the same thing? It is about 1 cm and is hard not XXXXXXX No additional symptoms I feel fine.

No itching Either. Would not have known it was even there if I had never felt my head.

Brief Answer:
Seborrheic Dermatitis.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your feedback.
This looks like seborrheic Dermatitis.
This is low grade inflammation of the skin. The edema appears with dimples wherein the hair follicles are present hence the typical picture.
This is usually self limiting means heals on its own and may not really need any active treatment.
Anti-dandruff shampoo may help.
Avoid hot and humid atmosphere.
Please discuss this with your Doctor.
You may also take an opinion of a Dermatologist if possible.
Apply liquid povidone iodine locally to avoid secondary infection.
I hope this answers your query.
Please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.

Brief Answer:
Is the picture you have sent is your scalp?
Detailed Answer:
I can understand your concerns.
The first thing the scalp loses are hair when there is any tumor underneath, your hair are absolutely intact.
So no cancerous or such lesions are suspected.
Secondly, actual palpation helps.
Dermatitis means inflammation - inflammation causes hard lumps.
Is the picture you have posted yours or from internet?
Which picture does not match which one - I could not get your point.

This hard bump feels like it is placed on top of my skull bone and underneath the skin on my head. Is it even possible for a tumour to develop on top of the skull bone? I would assume if this was a tumour underneath my skull bone, it would have to be quite larger causing symptoms in our to bend my skull bone and make a bump? I can feel all edges clear of this bump aswell.
