Question: Me and my girlfriend had Protected sex a week and a half ago. Today she said she felt really emotional and that she wiped when using the restroom and she said there was blood but she is inbetween periods does this mean she is possibly pregnant because she said she recently within the past month had a UTI (Urinary Trac Infection) and today she also felt slight lower back pain, or could the blood be a sign of a new UTI/and or kidney infection

Hi,
Thanks for discussing your problem with us.
Bleeding in between periods is not considered to be a sign of pregnancy or blood in urine or she is having other urinary symptoms like burning, dysuria, frequency, pain in lower abdomen then she can relate it to possible UTI. Lower back pain may occur due to a number of causes but in no way it is a hallmark of kidney problem.
However this intermenstrual bleeding certainly needs investigation. I suggest she should see a Gynecologist & have herself examined to rule out any local pathology. She should also have one Pap smear test, if not done recently.
Hope this answers your query. Please write back if you have any follow up question.
Wish you good health
Regards.
