Question: Does Hypercalcemia have any consequences when undergoing a General Anaesthetic?
Does Hypercalcemia have any consequences regarding wound healing? I have been diagnosed with Primary Hyperparathyroidism.

In general, primary hyperparathyroidism and hypercalcemia do not pose a direct threat during general anesthesia and in the context of wound healing.

It is important though to ensure good hydration to prevent a sudden sharp rise in the blood calcium levels. This can be XXXXXXX Typically around the time of surgery, the surgical team hydrates the patient well with fluids through the veins.
