Have Itching All Over Body. Diagnosed With Angioneurotic Edema. Is This Curable?
Thanks for writing to H.C.M. for your query.
I have gone through for your query regarding allergic episode of angioneurotic oedema. As it's name indicates it is an allergic diorder where we get oedema along with the symptoms of allergy. Oedema means swelling which sometimes becomes XXXXXXX to life also as when it involves our larynx. In cases when it involves larynx voice becomes hoarse and difficulty in breathing. This difficulty in breathing lands the patient in acute emergency.
This is an allergic disorder therefore it happens only in presence of allergen, these allergen may be in edible items like - in some kind of marine fishes, in cheese, in tecome powder, in perfumes etc.
As for as treatment is concerned here we manage for -
(a) Vitals.- Means maintaun easy breathing, maintain B.P., Pulse rate etc.
(b) manage the allergic reaction.
Here main drug of choice is CORTICOSTEROIDS. which is given by intravenous route to reverse the allergic process.
Regards.
