Brief Answer: Hi and welcome to XXXXXXX Detailed Answer: If there wasnt obvious hit then it can be several disorders. First,it may be beginning of inflammation process due to arthritis such as rheumatoid arthritis or gout. Later, this is usually manifested with constant pain, redness and swelling. This should be evaluated by checking blood inflammatory markers and it is treated with antiinflammatory painkillers. Second,if there is no any external sign and there is coldness and paleness of legs, it may be decreased blood flow in legs due to aterosclerosis, diabetes or venous insufficiency. So you should check bolod sugar and do doppler ultrasound of legs to verify blood flow. Also, see will pain subside if you warm up your legs. Third, it can be neuropathy due to diabetes or some metabolic disorder (vit B12 defficiency). So take B12 supplements and do neurologic work up if you rule out first 2 causes. In every case, you should take nonsteroid painkillers, avoid cold environment, keep you legs elevated. This should relief pain, pain for exact diagnosis you should do tests that I ve recommended. Wish you good health. Feel free to ask. Regards
