Question: I have polysistic ovaries and want to know how to go about getting pregnant have tried for just over a year now and nothing :(

Im not even over weight if i loose anybweight ill be underweight, also my doctor wont give me meteformin /: and i dont know how big they are, but i know ive got. 100+ Cysts with both ovaries and thats worrying, also isit trust it give you heart disease or cancer?

Hi,

If it is confirmed as PCOD then most trained physicians prescribe Metformin. Was it labelled to be a disease as there are cysts in every woman's ovary. It depends if they are causing problems or not. Do you have irregular periods? Are you not ovulating? Is it confirmed?

If 'yes' is the answer for the above three queries then you should confirm it with LH and FSH ratio. I suggest you to XXXXXXX a board certified reproductive endocrinologist for managing the condition correctly.

PCOD has a high incidence of diabetes and diabetes is considered high risk for cancer. Not all PCOD women develop diabetes but fair chance. They are is very little evidence about cancer.

I was confirmed on the 10th of december 2012, ive tried going to the dctors and asking for metaformin, they say they cant as the need my partners sperm tested, but i also want it for the pains i get in my ovaries, its horribke!! And ive had one child 4 years ago now, i dont have regualar periods had 7 day period in march, then a 9 day one in XXXXXXX and i do ovulations tests every day havent ha one positive test

Hi,

Metformin would not help for the pain that you have in the ovaries. It has a different use. I think you should take over the counter pain relievers like Ibuprufen/Naprosyn for the pain relief or Mefenemic acid plus spasmoproxyvon.

They need partners sperm to determine the cause of fertility. they can help the person with ample pain medication that she suffers. The main objective of the doctor should be to empathize the suffering and this is not happening. You should be referred to appropriate specialist. Call up the local private hospital and check if they have any private physician attached to them who can prescribe you some pain medication.

By now you should have looked up for alternate doctor who can help allay the pain. If the pain is cured then you comfortably look for specific treatment to get pregnant despite PCOD. There are other ways which an Infertility specialists are trained on.

I do not know if your system works only on GP referral to a specialist then you have to request your GP.

Thank you, and im in the uk so its al nhs, and should i try tablets like 'trying for a baby' i forget the company that makes them as i do want to try and keep this all natural as posible

There is no herbal things that I remember that help ovulation, the following is script in the medial books.

While maintaining ideal weight (neither thin nor fat) you should have antioxidant diet XXXXXXX with fruit, vegetable and whole grains.

Moderate consumption of caffeine and tea. No alcohol is allowed while you trying to conceive. No smoking that reduce the chance of ovulation and sperm motility.

Exercise boosts the fertility rate in both men and women.

Try to aim regular menstrual cycles which is pivotal for ovulation. Plan your intercourse according to the menstruals.
