Question: I have polysistic ovaries and want to know how to go about getting pregnant have tried for just over a year now and nothing :(
Brief Answer:
Direct weight loss has huge chances of pregnancy
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Polycystic ovarian disease is metabolic and hormonal problem. A lot of experts consider it because of environmental irregularities in a woman's life such as overweight, fast life, instant and junk food and sedentary life.
The evidence says the following have huge impact on the outcomes of pregnancy, you may want to try them if not tried yet. If tried please let me know all the other details
1) A 10% weight loss will at least improve the chances by 40 to 50%
2) Metformin use
3) Blood glucose check and control
If the cysts are large enough drilling of the cysts was also considered.
Let me know

Im not even over weight if i loose anybweight ill be underweight, also my doctor wont give me meteformin /: and i dont know how big they are, but i know ive got. 100+ Cysts with both ovaries and thats worrying, also isit trust it give you heart disease or cancer?
Brief Answer:
Confirm if it is pcod
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If it is confirmed as PCOD then most trained physicians prescribe Metformin. Was it labelled to be a disease as there are cysts in every woman's ovary. It depends if they are causing problems or not. Do you have irregular periods? Are you not ovulating? Is it confirmed?
If 'yes' is the answer for the above three queries then you should confirm it with LH and FSH ratio. I suggest you to XXXXXXX a board certified reproductive endocrinologist for managing the condition correctly.
PCOD has a high incidence of diabetes and diabetes is considered high risk for cancer. Not all PCOD women develop diabetes but fair chance. They are is very little evidence about cancer.
Hope this answers.

Brief Answer:
Metformin does not help horrible pain
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Metformin would not help for the pain that you have in the ovaries. It has a different use. I think you should take over the counter pain relievers like Ibuprufen/Naprosyn for the pain relief or Mefenemic acid plus spasmoproxyvon.
They need partners sperm to determine the cause of fertility. they can help the person with ample pain medication that she suffers. The main objective of the doctor should be to empathize the suffering and this is not happening. You should be referred to appropriate specialist. Call up the local private hospital and check if they have any private physician attached to them who can prescribe you some pain medication.

I cannot afford private hospital costs, so would j nee tk go through my doctors to get help or can i rjng up my local hosptal
Brief Answer:
Call local hospital and ask for alternate physicia
Detailed Answer:
Sorry for being late.
By now you should have looked up for alternate doctor who can help allay the pain. If the pain is cured then you comfortably look for specific treatment to get pregnant despite PCOD. There are other ways which an Infertility specialists are trained on.
I do not know if your system works only on GP referral to a specialist then you have to request your GP.
Thank you.
