Take duretics for blood pressure. Taken off eight meds for blood pressure. Now will probably be perscribed predisone for inflamation in head. How will this affect blood pressure?
Steroids increase Blood Pressure but the effect is temporary and reversible.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Your concern is very right, steroids are well known to increase the Blood pressure either by retaining more salt and water but also by increasing the effects of your heart.
In patients with hypertension, we always try to avoid steroids however sometimes the benefits of steroids overweight the risk and may well be used.
The good points are that:
1. Steroids are used in low dose mostly for skin inflammation and rise in BP is most of the times not very gross with low dose steroids.
2. The effect is only temporary and reversible and finishes with stopping the steroids.
3. Blood pressure even if high for some time does not make problems as we know high BP makes problems only if for a very long time (until it is very high). Here we would be sooner stopping the steroids and hence normalize BP.
So to put it together, you should keep an eye on your BP and discuss this with your doctor but if steroids are necessary, I think it can be used safely for a limited time with minimum dose with an eye on BP.
Hopes I have answered your question. Please feel free to ask anything else you need to know.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Good day ...
Infact the answer was related to the effects of steroids on blood pressure. This was what I understood from the question.
Regarding your skin problem , what I understand that this is unlikely to be scabies or follicultis as they don't exist for this long .Scabies itches intensely and generally you get it form some one so is unlikely if you do not have any family member or friend suffering from it. It also heals with the cream .
Its more likely is an allergic type ( but not sure untI'll seen), this may be related to drug .I just wonder did this occur after any drug? Is it still there? Infact ot can't be said for sure untI'll seen as there are very lot causes of rash .This would be great if you could send a picture of the rash .Please do share with us so that we could know what it looks like exactly .
Steroids are used mostly topical for skin probelms and topical steroids is very unlikely to causes rise in BP .Howe'ver some times oral steroids may be needed .
You can talk to a dermatalogist if the rash is still making problem or Please do share the picture of the rash with us so that we could know what it looks like exactly.
Hope I have answered your question. Please don't hesitate to ask anything you need to know or if left unanswered .I would be glad to answer it.
