Have Stone In Kidney. Is There Any Laser Treatment Available?
Question: hi doctor i have two stones one in left kidney of size 5mm and one in right kidney of size 20mm i dont want to go for surgery so plz suggest is laser treatment possible and is it painless
Welcome to the forum.
The 5 mm stone does not need any specific procedure.
The 20 mm stone can be treated by
1. Lithotripsy - breaking the stone from outside( without passing any instruments inside the body). No admission is needed and can go home in a few hours.
2. Ureteroscopy with Laser fragmentation - requires admission for at least one day.
Both are minimally invasive and needed only mild painkillers if at all there is pain.
Best regards

what will the expense in lithotripsy and will it be only for a day
Lithotripsy costs approximately about 0000 (twenty thousand rupees).
First you need to go to your urologist, get the required tests in order before proceeding.
The final decision for lithotripsy is based on a good look at the scans and x-rays by your doctor, as the results of lithotripsy depend on the exact location of the stone in the kidney.
