Having Always Been Fairly Active, I Now Have No Endurance.
Question: Having always been fairly active, I now have no endurance. I feel pressure in the Right side of my chest. I have had x rays that do not show anything. Even with minimal exertion, I quickly perspire and become short of breath. This is accompanied by feeling a little ill. My longtime GP says that I do not have congestive heart disease. This has become chronic.
Brief Answer:
Get done PFT.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Ask a doctor forum.
I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, you should get done PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) and CT pulmonary angiography.
PFT is needed to rule out obstructive lung disease.
CT pulmonary angiography is needed to rule out pulmonary embolism.
Both can cause similar symptoms.
Please let me know if you already had these tests.
I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
