Having Pain In Lower Back, Buttocks And Groin Area. Hurts To Lay Down. Is It Safe To Inject Cortisone?
It has limited everything I do.
Even laying down hurts.
I don't rest well & my leg won't flex out when I sit & or bathe. I can't lay on my left hip.
My mobility in my left leg & pain is very disabling to me.
Physical therapy does not help.
It's to hard to lay on my stomach or back.
I'm having pain all the way to my ankles.
I'm worn out with this.
Dr wants to inject cortisone in my hip joint around femur.
I can't take much more of this.
My leg is weak & feels unstable
My left side feels twisted.
I'm very swollen on my left side around my low back & hip area.
But pain goes all the way down my leg.
I want all motion in my leg again.

Your symptoms are suggestive of an arthritis in the hip joint which is being further aggravated by vitamin D deficiency.
The main treatment includes pain killers, hot fomentation, lubricating agents like glucosamine sulfate, chondroitin , dycerin, etc and some life style modifications and physiotherapy. Calcium and vitamin D supplements need to be taken on a regular basis.
Since the pain killers are not providing adequate relief, local steroid injections are given to reduce the inflammation.
Your orthopedician is guiding you correctly regarding the treatment. Please do follow his advise for full relief.

But what about the pain& mobility in my left leg?
&I being able to sit, stand &I lie down without swelling or pain.
The instability im feeling is not good.
Lieing down puts alot of pressure &I pain on my tailbone.
Why would I have an arthritic hip? Im young, its not in the family anywhere.
It came on in march &I life quit after that.
Why is the vitamin d so important &I why am I low?

At your age and specially in the perimenopausal age, calcium and vitamin D deficiency is common due to hormonal changes in the body. The changes in your spine are responsible for the pain in your legs. taking adequate anti inflammatory drugs in combination with muscle relaxants will be helpful. Improvisation of posture and regular back strengthening exercises will also help in decreasing the further deterioration.
