Having Severe Hair Fall. What Should I Do?

There are various causes of hair loss at your age.
Firstly it is important to understand what kind of hair loss you have i.e. is it Andro-genetic (AGA) or is it diffuse hair loss.In AGA one looses hair especially from the front and crown of scalp.There is gradual recession of frontal hair line .Hair from the sides and back are not involved in this .I would like to share with you that in AGA, if your family members also have the same patter of hair loss (esp your father) then ,there is very high chance that you would also get the same pattern.With proper medication ,diet & life style management you can delay the process of baldness may be by few years.So AGA is familial.This depends on your genes and hormones .
While in Diffuse hair loss ,one looses hair from all sides of the scalp and there is gradual thinning of hair from the entire scalp(whole scalp).
Other causes are hair loss is lack of sleep,stress,iron deficiency ,hormonal reasons ,thyroid problem ,use of chemical on scalp etc.
You can consult a dermatologist at your place to know the exact cause of hair loss,though the most common cause is AGA in males .
After proper diagnosis you can start with topical preparations like Minoxidil 5% -10% applied twice daily on scalp along with tab biotin one daily.Other hormonal medicines like fenestride (1mg) are also available if needed.These can only be prescribed by a dermatologist after proper consultation. Apart from this there are lasers for hair growth (FDA APPROVED) which needs to be taken for initial 2 months .It has amazing results. Then there is MESO-THERAPY which are tiny injections which are directly given on the scalp for growth.
Following are the advises we recommend in case of hair loss.
FOODS TO AVOID IN CASE OF HAIR LOSS :
1) Mutton,Red meat,Fish fry,Tandoori chicken,Home made fish or chicken cooked with out frying-can be taken once in 10 days(only 2 pieces with no gravy).
2) Coconut gravy,ground nuts or peanuts,excess potato,pasta & noodles.
3) Fried foods-wada,samosa,puri,papad,dosa,chips.
4) Sugar foods-chocolates,pastries,cakes,ice cream,sweets,desserts .
5) Bakery foods-Biscuits,toasts,puffs,patties,rolls,croissants,cup cakes.
6) Chines foods- agino moto or Chinese salt is bad for hair.
7) Fast foods-pizza, burgers, canned foods.
8) Colas,coke,pepsi,soft drinks & all kind of juices.
9) Strictly no smoking.
FOODS FOR HEALTHY HAIR :
1) 10-12 Glasses of water daily.
2) Steamed sprouts- 3 time a wk
3) XXXXXXX leafy vegetables-3 times a wk
4) XXXXXXX beans-3 times a wk,like gavar, chawli, beans .
5) Raw salads-radish, beet root, carrot, cucumber, tomato, pepper, lime, no salad dressings .
6) Dry beans like rajma, black beans, yellow beans, kidney beans-twice a wk.
7) All types of dal-black dal,yellow dal,turn by turn daily.
8)Paneer(cottage cheese) ,chola(chick peas), soya, each –once a wk.
9) 4 walnuts & 4 almonds- on alternate days.
10) 1 glass milk per day.
11)1 tsf ghee per or 1 – slice of cheese per day.
12) 4 fresh fruits per day-advice to bite & eat –with the fruit skin, no juices.
The above said diet and medicines would help get good hair and prevent hair loss,but do consult a dermatologist for proper diagnosis & prescription.
