Question: Hello-

I am a 51 one year old man in good health.
I exercise and am in good shape. Cholesterol is good. I am HIV but have been undetectable for almost twenty years. I have a checkup with bloodwork every 6 months with no issues.

Yesterday I had a substantial amount of blood in my semen. It was pure red. I%E2%80%99ve never experienced this before.

Soon afterwards I urinated and there was no blood.

In 2002 I had my left testicle removed due to a benign growth. I haven%E2%80%99t had any problems since then other than occasional prostatitis.

Thank you

Brief Answer:
Get further evaluated soon, tumour may be an option.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

There are several conditions which can cause blood in semen. You are having a bit of complicated medical history of HIV which can make you prone to other infections and STD and also previous testicle tumour.
Your age and previous history of testicle tumour makes it necessary to get further evaluated doing semen culture, std an ultrasound of the testicle and urinary track.
So don't neglect it and get further evaluated.

Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
