Hello. About A Week Ago, I Tried A Vegan Diet
How likely is it that it's anal cancer instead of hemorrhoids, based on the information I've given you?
BTW, I took a Cologuard test 2 years and 10 months ago. Should that give me some kind of assurance it's probably not anal cancer?
Thank you so mucn,
XXXXXXX

It seems like haemorrhoids.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear XXXXXXX welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
Most probably it can be just haemorrhoids and not cancer.
Anal cancer is a rare disease, happening in older age, developing for a long time ,
, causing bleeding and difficult defecation.
The doctor on ER can suspect it only by seeing it physically.
The ER doesn't take tissue sample for biopsy if cancer is suspected. The sample is taken under anesthesia.
There is no need for sample if you have haemorrhoids.
You can use haemorrhoids cream which can be found over the counter.
I can say you don't have to worry so much about it because it seems just haemorrhoids .
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Fit test will most likely be positive.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and thank you for asking again.
Having haemorrhoids can make fit test be positive and in someone with haemorrhoids the false positive is much higher than 25%.
You are seeing blood in stools so fit test, most probably will be positive.
I think your doctor should examine your anus physically to see if haemorrhoids are easily seen.
Colonoscopy is needed without doing fit test at all.

My doctor recommends a FIT test to help with the diagnostic process. But I do have a possible concern about it showing a false positive, because it detects bleeding in the colon, and since I probably have hemorrhoids(which cause bleeding), and I also tend to bleed very easily(eg. when flossing, shaving, etc).
Do you think the 2 health conditions I just mentioned would make it significantly more likely I will have a false positive on this test(the average false positive rate on this test is 25%, which to me sounds very high).
Thanks so much!

Unfortunately, I consider a colonoscopy a last resort in my case because the last time I had a procedure involving the same kind of sedation, I had a severe allergic reaction that put me in intensive care. So I'm in need of other options.
Have you heard of the Cologuard test? Part of the test involves checking for blood in the stool, so I'm wondering if you felt this test could also result in a likely false positive for me?
If so, is it possible to get just a stool DNA test? Or are there any blood tests for colon cancer(eg. tumor markers) that are reliable as a screening tool?
Thanks once again for all your advice :)

Cologuard can't be done if you have haemorrhoids.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome.
I don't think that you can use cologuard test if you have haemorrhoids.
You need to get physically examined and if doctor suspects that you are having haemorrhoids you can't do cologuard test.
You may also do CEA marker to check for colon cancer. It can suspect colon but colonoscopy is the one which can diagnose it .
