Are there are other reasons besides cancer for having one tonsil larger than the other?
Brief Answer:
Yes.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. Yes. Tonsil cancer is rare.
2. It is common to have a difference in the appearance and size between both tonsils in the same individual.
3. If only one tonsil is very large in size or there are symptoms such as discoloration , bleeding, pain, lump in the neck or persistent ulceration/ sore throat, then it can be investigated.
I hope that I have answered your question. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
