Hello, Can You Help Me Figure Out What Is Going
Question: Hello,
Can you help me figure out what is going on with my throat/tonsils? I was diagnosed with laryngitis/pharyngitis, was put on antibiotics, but tonsils are still a bit swollen and there%E2%80%99s still something in the back of my throat. I have a bit of a cough, took out some tonsils stones, and a bit of drainage. I am through with antibiotics now.
Thanks,
Dani

Brief Answer:
Continue antibiotic treatment and rinse with saline water.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
I think you are having tonsillitis and pharyngitis.
I would prefer to see a picture of your throat to see it's conditions now.
The only thing you can do is to continue your antibiotic treatment, rinse throat with saline water to reduce inflammation.
You may need to do a throat culture 7 to 10 after finishing the antibiotic treatment.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

I have attached two pictures. Do you think it may be allergy related? The trees are budding here. I am having some sinus burning and also have post nasal drip. No fatigue. No fever. I have been off of my antibiotics for 3 days now. I’m either thinking viral, allergies, or possible acid reflux. Thanks.
Brief Answer:
GERD can cause throat inflammation.
Detailed Answer:
I can't see a photo yet so you can attach one on reports or send one on YYYY@YYYY .
Reflux also can cause inflammation of throat, swelling and irritation.
Also allergy us possible by because you are having nasal drip and sinus burning.
Use citerizine because it will help with sinus congestion

Here is a picture.
Brief Answer:
It can be allergy
Detailed Answer:
I see the pictures of your throat you attached and the throat is in normal colour and tonsils look normal also. No redness and no white dots which means that the infection is clear now.
A bit of irritation is seen in the back of your throat.
I think that it is caused by allergy and post nasal drip. Continue with antihistamines and clean nose and throat with saline water.
Also keep reflux under control eating at least 3 hours before bed,eat small amounts of food frequently, avoid acidic foods such orange juice, tomato sauce etj .
Sleep with elevated head with several pillows.
Wishing you good health.
