Hello Doc, I Had An Orthodontist Treatment Taken Up 2

Question: Hello Doc,
I had an orthodontist treatment taken up 2 years back and now and then have a slight gap between my front tooth. I used to wear the retainers now and then to cover up the gap. But a week ago I had a dental implant and the dentist has asked me not to go for the retainers anymore - can I cover this gap with an upper lingual treatment !?
