Question: Hello Doc
Our daughter is now 16 months old
We have 2 questions
1. How can we move her to toilet for doing her potty and urine. She presently does that in her pampers and is hesitant to go to the toilet. Is toilet seat needed ?
2. How can we encourage her to speak. Currently she only speaks basic words like mama, papa , do , go etc.

Brief Answer:
Don't worry, details below

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for asking on this platform

I have gone through the query and do understand your concern.
Toilet training is not that tough as it is thought usually.
Toilet training usually started at 18 months of age and most of the babies get trained by 3 years of age. Bladder control and night time dryness may take some more time.
Check for signs whether your baby is ready for training-
If your baby is passing stool at a particular time like after waking up in the morning, in the evening or before going to sleep.
If your baby is getting stand still, sitting down, getting calm, showing some specific signs or finding a quite place to pass stool…all these signs are that she is ready to get toilet trained. Buy a potty seat which is comfortable for your baby and keep it in your toilet. Try to make her sit down on potty seat. Encourage her to do that, avoid mistakes and keep patience.
This will help her in better toilet training.
Regarding speech I won't get worried as now a days it is very common due to nuclear family, working parents and use of electronic gadgets.
Restrict electronic gadgets screening time to less than 2 hours a day. Try to interact more with baby with use of more and more words. Try to repeat fixed words initially while doing a particular job like feeding, bathing, playing.
At last don't get stressed and don't worried as all these are natural developmental milestones for all the babies and babies usually acquire that on their own but in a better way they are getting parents help.

I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more questions.
Regards
