Hello Doctor, Around 6 Weeks Back, I Got A Small

Question: Hello Doctor,

Around 6 weeks back, I got a small cut in my skin which connects the foreskin to the penis (I guess it is called Frenulum) while masterbating. Also, I got a bump in that area like swelling. I cleaned it with water immediately, but didn't go to doctor thinking it will heal on its own. By evening, the swelling reduced, but the cut was still the same. Within couple of days, the cut healed as well and I was unable to see cut anymore. I felt it was because of masterbating on a hard surface (without using hands) when the penis area was very dry as I got the same cut at another place on the foreskin. As both the cuts were healed in 2-3 days, I was relaxed. However, I started getting some burning pain just before going to urinate but doesn't feel anything after urinating. Also, I started feeling some pain when I used water to wash the frenulum after masterbating when the penis is in erected position (Pain doesn't happen with every wash). I showed it to the doctor available at the urgent care near me and he had a look at the penis and said there is no need to worry. As per him, the cut could be due to dry skin and asked to use any moisturizer (Optional). Also, he gave "Clotrimazole 1%" to apply to the area for the burning pain mentioning that burning pain could be because of fungal infection which is hard to find. However, I didn't use it as the burning pain reduced and stopped on its own in next couple of days. However, it again started after 2 weeks. Also, I am little concerned over a vein visible little strongly on the skin (I guess Frenular vein), not sure if it is normal to have that vein that strongly visible as I don't remember to notice it previously (Attached a sample I found on google. The vein is visible almost similarly when I retract my foreskin). Request for your advice on the attached sample picture if it looks like an inflamed vein or some concern to you and do I need to visit the urgent care doctor again or should I start using "Clotrimazole 1%".

Thanks & Regards

Brief Answer:
Nothing to be worried about at all .

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query .

Based on what you have described you have sustained trivial injury to Frenulum due to rough handling of penis while masturbating which has normally healed over a period of two weeks .

The pain that you get is due to hypertrophied invisible scar which is a normal during the process of healing and will surely fade away gradually over a period of three months .

You may use local anesthetic jelly like Xylocaine jelly for local application

The prominant vein seen just proximal to coronal sulcus is a dilated tributary of a lateral superficial vein of penis and is seen in many individuals and not to be worried for .It does not need any treatment .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
