Hello Doctor, Few Days Back And I Got Severe Cough, cold

Question: Hello Doctor,

Few Days back and i got severe cough, cold and fever. I went to see a doctor for which he diagnosed my condition as acute bronchitis. I have given Albuterol inhaler and Prednisone (for 5 days). I was fine after that. My cold and cough got drastically reduced. However i still feel little bit cough with very very light phlegm and mild breathlessness when i do more exercise or went out in cold air.

So i went to see a pulmonary specialist. He suggested to do lung pulmonary test only as I already went through chest x ray and blood tests in august of this year.

I am attaching all reports with this email.
Also, during regular check up process i also went through ct scan of my chest in 2018 February. I am also attaching that old report here.

Could you please go through this reports and let me know and tell about my present situation of my lungs. My doctor it may be COPD but my O2 SATURATION levels when i continuosly test at home stay at 97 constantly.

I am really worried,

Please help

THank you, XXXXXXX Inguva

Brief Answer:
No, it is not life threatening.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Ask a doctor forum.
I can understand your concern.
No, it is not life threatening. And it is easily managed and controlled.
You need to take longer acting inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS).
So please let me know
1. Have you ever consulted pulmonologist after PFT report?

Brief Answer:
No, it is not progressive.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on Ask a doctor forum.
I can understand your concern. No, it is not progressive.
It is easily controlled.
In my opinion, you should start combination of inhaled bronchodilators (formoterol or salmeterol) and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) (budesonide or fluticasone).
So ask your pulmonologist for this.
Hope I have solved your query. If you are not having further queries, then please close the conversation and rate my answer. You can ask me directly on bit.ly askdrkaushalbhavsar.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
