For molluscum contagiosum, diagnosis is also usually based on physical exam, including dermoscopy, and usually a biopsy is not needed.
For condyloma XXXXXXX lesions of secondary syphilis, a serological test should be done, starting with an RPR, and if that is positive, confirming with a treponemal test such as T. pallidum particle agglutination assay (TPPA). A swab of the lesions can also be done for PCR testing.
