Question: Hello Doctor
I have a 3 months Old ( 15 Weeks) Son , I am observing that he is having a bit of nose congestion from last 1-2 days resulting in some discomfort some times.
Can I use Vicks Baby Rub ( if yes , how ?) or any other solution ?

No need to use any oral medications - better avoid Vicks

Detailed Answer:
Hi...Thank you for consulting in here.
Cough and cold are viral 95% of the times in children.

For cold you should not use anti-allergics like Cetirizine at this age group and for nose block, saline nasal decongestants will do.

For nasal block, plain saline nasal drops will do, every 4-6th hourly to relive nasal congestion.

Paracetamol can be given in the dose of 15mg/kg/dose (max ceiling dose 500mg) every 4-6th hourly, that too only if fever is more than 100F. I suggest not using combination medicines for fever, especially with Paracetamol.

I suggest you not to use Vicks Vaporub as it may contain camphor and it is not good.
