Hello Doctor :) I've Had Nissan Fundoplication And Hiatal Hernia
![default](/r/images/default.png)
- Reason I know its radiation from the stomach, is because if I use a hot-water bottle and hold it against my stomach(problem area) for like just a few minutes and get relaxed, this pain can go away in just a few seconds and I feel the release or tension in stomach releases. Also 125-240mg of semiotician can release this tension if problem presist. My question is this, how is it possible that intestinal gas or problems can cause real upper back pain ? is the stomach gas putting pressure on nerve that is radiating back pain or how does this work ?
I can't find anything answer on google how this works but I have heard other people asking these questions.
Also everytime I get stressed or angry, I get tension in this same exact area(picture attached) above the naval and the stomach get tense. How can anger and frustration cause our stomach to become tense and hard?
Also in this area I have the surgical scar, can this make the stomach a little bit less flexible ? if so what can I do about it myself? Lying on the left side putting a light massage on stomach also releases tension and I can really feel the release.
Other than these problems I feel healthy; but need to stay away from certain foods. Fatty food sometimes causes me problems. Taking purify bile-salts help a-lot.
Dermatomes overlap each other.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for query,
Have seen your details and attachment dear,
If you look at the anatomy of our abdomen just below stomach there is intestines and pancreatic area also passes from near it. The main nerve supplying a large part like abdomen usually arises from spinal cord which further breaks up into millions of small nerves. There is another entity called dermatomes. The body nerve supply is divided on basis of dermatomes. Dermatome is not related to location of organs. A number of dermatomes can over lap each other (Dermatome is a very broad concept and you can study dermatomes concept anatomically and physiollogically) which means the small nerves supplying that dermatome also overlap each other. This overlapping of nerves in dermatomes is the cause of radiation of pain...Usually if pressure is applied on pancreas pain radiates to back(Note pancreas passes near stomach and intestines).
As per anxiety is concerned there are two types of nervous systems in body-
One controlled by brain
Second Autonomous ( brain can't control it).-Stress and anxiety usually affects the autonomous nerves and a large part of our gut has autonomous nerve supply. Sympoms can differ from patient to patient.
Not related to scar.
Rx-
Take any thing that helps you.
If fatty food is causing problem avoid it.
Can keep taking bile salts.
Can also take tablet of activated charcoal.
Initially natural anti anxiety medicines like lactium can also be taken to calm down nerves.
Follow a good life style which includes fruits vegetable.
Try to avoid meat and fatty foods.
Hope this answers your query.
Feel free to follow up.
Regards!

Tension in this area and the symptoms I have described, do I have to worry about any further consequences or can I just relax ?
Feels like this area of the stomach is directly wired to my brain. If I get frustrated this area gets very tense and can make problems for me for days afterwards. Sometimes if everything goes as planned for days, this area is not tense and its much easier releasing gas as well.

Follow up.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you so much for follow up ,
Initially before suggesting you to go for any tests etc I would recommend you to take anti anxiety pill for minimum of 2-4 weeks and see how your symptoms respond to it.
I would suggest you to talk to your doctor and get a prescription for
Xanax 0.25 mg once with SSRI like Paroxetine 12.5 mg once. I think this would really help you to calm your nerves. However if things don't improve after that also then tests could be done .However primi fascia symptoms appears to be linked directly to anxiety levels.
Right now making a comment on whether you should relax and do nothing is not a good suggestion. I need a minimum 2 weeks treatment to give you further suggestions.
Thank you and talk to your primary doctor for a prescription.
Regards.
