Brief Answer:
Some people get excessive sweating during panic attacks

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Panic attacks can take the form of generalised anxiety disorders where they get a feeling of impending doom. This or other factors can cause hyperhydrosis (excess sweating). Some medicines can also cause excess sweating.

The medicines prescribed for this condition are prescription medicines. They may prescribe medicines from group of drugs like sleep medicines (benzodiazepines) or antidepressants like SSRIs.
Some anticholinergic medicines like oxybutynin or benztropine may also help.

Can you let me know his list of medicines?

Meanwhile he can practice relaxation techniques (breathing techniques) and meditation daily to control his anxieties.

Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Brief Answer:
Rivotril is a benzodiazepine

Detailed Answer:
Hello again

Rivotril is a benzodiazepine, sleep medicine and is helpful in calming a person. He can take it. But it can cause dependence.
Because of stressful situations etc, panic attacks can precipitate. In COVID-19 situation many people are experiencing such attacks due to the news. Keep him away from such news and involve him in other activities.
Meanwhile meditation and breathing technique can be tried. In panic attacks there is hyperventilation. Breathing technique will help stabilise his breathing and should work.
If its not working, then psychiatrist will be able to prescribe any further medicine.
