A step by step approach to growth hormone therapy needs to be taken
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for using the Ask a Doctor service.
I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. Your son's height lies between the 10th and 25th percentile for age (which is below normal). Firstly your son's body weight as well as your and your spouse's height and weight (i.e. height and weight of both parents) need to be checked. This will help in ruling out familial short stature. The next step would be to get an X-Ray of left wrist AP view done. This will help in determining whether the epiphyses are already fused or whether there is still room for increase in height. Thereafter blood for TSH and IGF-1 would need to be checked to determine whether Growth hormone therapy can be done. Clonidine challenge test to determine growth hormone levels might also be necessary. Thereafter you would need to report the entire thing to an endocrinologist so that he would be able to undertake growth hormone therapy.

Thank you very much for your quick reply. My husband's height 5.5 inches and weight 62 kgs. and my height 5.3 inches and weight 60 kgs. we both are lean at 15 years of age due to lack of nutrition food, etc. but now we can feed good food for our child or any other which you suggest. if you think nutritional food is the main cause, then please advise what food I should give him (protein powder, etc).
Please advise.
Just give him a wholesome food. Protein powders are useless.
Detailed Answer:
Your son's height is lesser than what it should be even if we consider the parental heights. You need to visit an endocrinologist and he would be able to guide you through. I have already given you the outlines of the process.
