Hello Doctor, This Is Regarding My Son (1 Year 3

This is regarding my son (1 Year 3 Months old). He got viral fever on 25th Dec, 2018. It started reducing on 28th Dec, 2018. It didn't increase beyond 100 degrees since last 2 days. However, his body temperature is getting reduced to 96-97 degrees once he starts sleeping since last 2 nights.
Please find below the history since the temperature went down :
12/28/2018 - Temperature went below 98 degrees. Doctor told it could be because of overdose of
acetaminophen and ibuprofen. We tried to warm him and temperature came normal to 98.6 degrees and remained same till night 11:30 PM.
12/29/2018 - He started sleeping at 11:30 PM and temperature again went down to the range of 96.9 to 98 degrees. We didn't give him medicine this time but still the temperature went down. Also, he is sleeping even at the times when he generally play.
He didn't have his Multi-Vitamin and Iron since last 5 days of viral fever. Also, he didn't had proper food intake in last 5 days.
Request for your advice if the low temperature and weakness is because of improper food. If yes, request for your advice on the food that we should give him so that he can improve at the earliest.
Thanks & Regards
Looks like viral illness which is recovering
Detailed Answer:
Hi... thank you for consulting here.
This looks like a viral illness which is recovering.
Please do not worry about the low temperature as the ambient temperature now is very less and this type of low temperature of the body is common during recovery from viral illness.
Coming to the issue of food intake the weakness and tiredness could be because of low food intake and as such there is no specific recommendation on the diet because anything you give will be refused by the kid in this convalescence period.
The appetite will automatically improve as the kid becomes well and it might take even 2 weeks also.
I will explain you how a viral illness behaves so that you can be more confident.
Fever of few days without any localizing signs could as well a viral illness. Usually rather than fever, what is more important is the activity of the child, in between 2 fever episodes on the same day. If the kid is active and playing around when there is no fever, it is probably viral illness and it doesn't require antibiotics at all. Once viral fever comes it will there for 4-7 days. So do not worry about duration if the kid is active.
I wish your kid a speedy recovery. If you need any future medical consultation and suggestions, I will be glad to help. You can approach me at the following link.
