Hello Doctor, This Past Year, I Have Been Suffering From
about the low test results;
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
I have gone through your concern.
Low testosterone level should be corrected not only to improve the symptoms but it may have other negative effects (osteoporosis, increased cardiovascular risk, etc) if not checked in time.
So, you need to continue the treatment but I would suggest checking testosterone level in blood in order to be sure that it is back to normal.
In case, some symptoms still persist I would also suggest the thyroid hormones and prolactin level to be sure that there are no other hormonal imbalances except low testosterone.
If topical use is expensive, you may try testosterone injections.
Hope the information will help.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Best wishes,
Dr.Mirjeta
This past year, I have been suffering from Fatigue, no libido, ( no sex life) lack of energy and forcing myself out of bed in the morning. I even noticed that my testicles seemed to have shrunk! ( that could be because of some weight gain in the groin area, I'm only guessing) . I went to my PCP in April and he tested me for Testosterone level. The results came back as low ( 207) and he put me on a topical solution called Axiron to be applied under the armpit twice daily. He said my energy level will increase and libido will eventually return. Well it has been month 5 now of using this Axiron and I still have no desire for sex ( although I do wake up with an erection in the mornings ) but no desire to do anything about it. MY question is, do you think it is wise to continue the testosterone treatment given that its been 5 months now? I heard that one can develop other complications from taking topical testosterone such as Heart issues etc. I am hesitant to spend the cost to for another month if the results will be the same. Any advise would be appreciated. Regards, XXXXXXX
