Hello Dr. You Answered A Few Questions Regarding Avn In

Question: Hello Dr. You answered a few questions regarding avn in my hip. I can't have the surgery for several months since I'm on Medicaid (does that make senses?) - At times I suffer severe pain in my hips after what seems a lot of rest. I'm wondering if stretching excercising (though a bit painful) would help - my fear is my crumbling bones would dislodge into my body or blood stream. I do feel better after a stretch but nervous to do so. Thank you again for your quick and very informative answers,

Im sorry I meant to say that the pain is BETTER after a few days rest and feels slightly better AFTER I stretch my hip/leg
Brief Answer:
Stretching exercises will help.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
In avascular necrosis of hip, the bone does not break down and dissolve in the blood stream. It remains as it is. But it is best to start with some regular stretching exercises. This will help in maintaining the tone of the hip muscles. After the hip replacement it will help in an early recovery. You can consult a physiotherapist regarding the exercises that will be safe for you.
I hope this answers your query.
