Brief Answer:
Can be due to gas or menstrual cramps.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The pain in the right side of the lower abdomen can be related to gas or indigestion or menstrual cramps. You can take an anti spasmodic available over the counter and see if it subsides. Taking a mild laxative like isabgula husk also helps sometimes.
The irregular periods that you are having can be related to mild hormonal disturbance caused in the perimenopausal age group. In case the bleeding is heavy or is recurrent then you need to consult your gynaecologist for prescription hormonal tablets to control it.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.
