Detailed Answer:
Hello, Thank you for using "Ask a doctor" service.
I read your question carefully.
I need to have some more information in order to be able to advise properly.
- Are you sexually active?
- If so have you ever been checked for sexually transmitted infections?
- Have you been practicing any new sexual practice or masturbated differently or more lately?
- Do you have pain if you touch the testicles?
- Are both sides of your testicles the same in look and touch or you feel any sandlike structure on one side?
- Do you have pain during urinating?
- Do you have any other symptoms?
Looking forward to your follow up question.
Kind regards,

Possible testicular torsion if pain increases and does not get better
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for the follow up question.
You do not have many risks to have a serious problem since you are not sexually active. Masturbation is ok and I do not think that you caused a damage during masturbation. Maybe pulled a muscle but that has to be a specific muscle that goes exactly in the inner part of your thigh.
You should keep in mind a very important thing- if the pain increases go to the ER. It can be a testicular torsion. In this case except the pain you will see swollen testicles, going black in color, nausea and vomiting. This can come at once or gradually.
With these symptoms that you do not have I can also rule out a lot of possible problems, but that does not stay so if any other symptom develops.
Hope this is helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Kind regards, Dr. Klarida Papaqako, General and Family physician.
One testicle is normally slightly bigger then the other.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Yes that is why I also say go to the ER only if the pain becomes worser. Because sometimes testicular torsion starts gradually but becomes excruciating painful.
One testicle can be bigger then the other and higher then the other. But that difference should not be very much evident, should not be painful in touch and should not be worser with the time.
But if you are still worried you can go with these symptoms to the ER anyway and they can make an ultrasound and check if there is any torsion.
Otherwise is not anything else that it can be. Unless other symptoms develop.
Let me know too if you would like.
Kind regards,
Dr. Papaqako
