Hello, I Am 31 Almost 32 And Last Year I

Question: Hello, I am 31 almost 32 and last year I was admitted to the hospital with nephrotic syndrome. I was told after a kidney biopsy I had membranous nephropathy. While in the hospital they checked me for many secondary causes because my pla2r was negative, but found nothing so I was still diagnosed with idiopathic membranous despite having a negative pla2r. I was given losartan and rituxan infusions and now I’m in remission. Also vitamin D. Then this past winter, I started having very bad knee pain. I thought it was just premenstrual. I went to the doctor and they gave me an XRay. The xray said I have a sclerotic bone lesion and did not specify the measurements, but said it is possibly a bone island. I am terrified now that I may have bone cancer and that this is what caused my membranous nephropathy. Please help. It also says joint spaces are preserved . No spurring. No joint effusion. No arthritis or post traumatic deformity.

Hi there
Thanks for the query
Bone island is a normal finding in many people. Not to worry. It's not bone cancer. There may be other causes of sclerotic bone lesions but bone island is normal and is known to cause pain. Low vitamin D levels can also cause pain due to weak bones.
If you need to confirm bone island, you can do an MRI. MRI can tell if it's just a bone island or anything else.
I hope I have answered your query.
