Question: Hello I am 47 year old women have upper chest ache I do suffer from costichondritis and fibromyalgia I have had complete cardio work up done beginning of July echo echo stress test loop all normal blood pressure normal any suggestions and do u think this is cardiac

Hello

After going through the medical details provided by you I can understand your concern and I would like to tell you that costochondritis is basically inflammation and tenderness of the rib joints and resolve over a period of time after adequate rest and medications. Fibromyalgia however is more resistant towards treatment and require multidisciplinary approach including pain therapist, physiotherapist and clinician.

As all your basic cardiac tests were normal there is no need to worry about the cardiac health. Just make healthy lifestyle routine a part of your daily life and you will be alright.

Your chest aches are a part of fibromyalgia not cardiac issues so you can relax.
