Hello I Am XXXXXXX A 25 Year Old Woman. I

Question: Hello I am XXXXXXX a 25 year old woman. I went to a doctors 3 weeks ago about a sore throat. I got given amoxicillin, as I had puss on the back of my throat, and I had lots of green mucus. Anyway I took the 10 day course which cleared up all of the mucus. But my throat is still very sore right behind the tonsils. And under my chin, and my ears feel blocked and I feel dizzy, I need some relief

Also my tongue seems to look like the saying pie crust tongue on the sides. I don’t know if this is caused by me biting down on my tongue. Due to anxiety or if it’s to do wit my throat.

I thought this might of been due to a sinus infection but I don’t understand why my throat hurts under my chin. And my ears.
Brief Answer:
You haven't yet completely recovered from the infection...
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for posting the query
I have gone through the query and understood your problem. I am of the opinion that you haven't been completely recovered from the infection.
You seem to be having 3 issues. Sinusitis, Eustachian tube block, and Acute pharyngitis.
My suggestions to you are:
1. Use an isotonic saline nasal spray as frequently as possible. This clears the nose, reduces the soreness in the throat and relieves the Eustachian tube block.
2. Do steam inhalation 2-3 times a day for 3-5 minutes. This has the same effect as above.
3. Take a good anti-inflammatory medicine such as diclofenac or ibuprofen for the inflammation to subside.
4. Drink frequent sips of warm water.
5. Avoid coffee/chilled food and beverages/smoking/fizzy drinks (if any).
I hope with these measures you should get better. Revert back to me if you have any follow-up queries.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing back
Enlarged glands are due to the inflammation in the throat. Let's try with home remedies and symptomatic medicines first, if not getting better, then you would require to get a blood test done along with an x-ray of the paranasal sinuses.
Wish you a speedy recovery

Sorry I am just very scared, my throat started to feel better today. But early evening all my neck and throat and under chin started to ache again especially if I speak a lot. Even under my tongue hurts. I don’t think anxiety is helping me currently.
Brief Answer:
Do not worry! You would definitely get better soon...
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome back. My sincere apologies for the delayed reply.
Once you start taking anti-inflammatory medicines you would feel better. Anxiety is your biggest enemy, kindly refrain from it. Drink frequent sips of warm water. Avoid talking continuously as it dries up your throat and the mucosa will start irritating.
The rest of the medications and home remedies as I suggested before should be continued.
