Question: Hello, I am a 34 year old female. For the past week or so I have been experiencing swelling in a very odd location on my leg. There is no pain, there was no trauma to my leg and when I press on the area, there is no pain whatsoever. There is no redness, pain or swelling in any area except the outer high aNkle. I have however noticed a little bit of numbness that comes and goes in my 4th and 5th toes on the same foot. It is my left foot.

When I elevate my leg, the swelling goes down after about 30 minutes of elevation. It is only in that one spot, on the one leg. I have been to the doctor and she is sending me to a podiatrist, but I am wondering if that is the correct specialty and it may take some time to get there.

My question is, I have seen a couple doctors and none of them have seen anything like this before, which really worries me. Have you ever seen swelling in this particular place, and if so, what was the diagnosis.

Thank you very much for your time.

Brief Answer:
looks benign

Detailed Answer:
hi looks like a benign swelling. could be as simple as a lipoma, fibroma, or a tendon sheath swelling.
I suggest to get an ultrasound done, to find out the cause of the swelling.
