Question: Hello,
I am a 46 year old male. I have a spot of ringworm on my right shoulder (Disc Shaped/clear in the middle) and a minor case of athlete's foot that I have been dealing with this for almost 6 months. This is the spot. It will get a little lighter than this after topical sprays/creams. But will get itchy, red, and puffy at times. The fevers seem to correspond to this patch inflaming.
Brief Answer:
I agree with your doctor
Detailed Answer:
Dear sir, hello again. I agree with your doctor that this is a ringworm infection of the skin.. This unfortunately sometimes is resistant to treatment. However please continue on fluconazol for two more weeks and if no improvement occur then you need to be examined by a dermatologist.. Also make sure you wear cotton clothes and keep the area dry at all times..
Also i would recommend that you get a blood test for blood glucose levels both fasting and postprandial along with HBA1c test as infections resistant to treatment might indicate diabetic or prediabetic status.. I hope you find this helpful.. If you don’t have any other clarifications then please close the discussion..
