Hello, I Am A 52-year-old Woman. I Am 5 Foot

Question: Hello, I am a 52-year-old woman. I am 5 foot 5 inches tall and weigh 118lbs. Last week I met with my doctor and had a blood screening. She said that I am in excellent health. My HDL cholesterol number is 85 and my LDL is 130. I am confused by this as I am not and have never been overweight and am very active and healthy. Should I be concerned? What may have caused the 130 LDL? Thank you.
Brief Answer:
Multifactorial...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Besides diet and life style there are other known and unknown causes of altered lipids. It also includes genetic and familial causes. Therefore its not easy to pinpoint a cause for elevated LDL.
Moreover 130 LDL is not significantly elevated to pose high risks of atherosclerosis. I am not overly concerned.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.
Regards
