Hello! I Am Currently Trying To Conceive My Second Child

Question: Hello! I am currently trying to conceive my second child through IVF. I have a 2 year old little girl who is perfectly healthy and wonderful. I struggle with anxiety and depression and have been on various medications in the past. I always had issues of terrible side effects and couldn't find one that worked well for me until I tried a newer med a couple months ago called Viibryd. Since i am so sensitive to meds I am on a very small dose of 10 mg.

I know that I need this medication to feel ok. If i dont take it I have lots of negative thoughts, terrible fights with my husband and bad anxiety. I know that Zoloft is considered the most safe for pregnancy but it doesn't work for me and makes me feel completely flat. I wanted to know thoughts on Viibryd at this low dose and how it would be during pregnancy. I have a genetically tested embryo that we plan to transfer in November.

Any help is greatly appreciated . Thanks a lot!

Brief Answer:
Pregnancy category C drug.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
I have gone through your query and understand your health concerns ,
Viibryd- Vilazodone is a pregnancy category C drug. It can be used during pregnancy under a medical supervision but is not entirely free of risk.
It has shown to cause decreased fetal body weight gain and delayed ossification of bones in animals.
There is no such data available for human pregnancy. In case you continue it during the pregnancy you will need to have regular antenatal ultrasound scans to monitor the baby's growth.
I hope this answers your query.
