Question: Hello. I am having a problem with dry eyes. I've had this problem for several years, but it has gotten much worse in the last few weeks. I seem to need to put in eye drops more and more often. What causes dry eyes? Does coffee (caffeine) cause it? Or possibly my nasal allergy spray?

What can I do to improve the moisture in my eyes?

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
First we need to find the cause

Detailed Answer:
hey thanks for the question.

We need to find the cause and the severity of your dry eye . Do you work in an air conditioned environment ? Do you use computers and XXXXXXX a lot ? Does the lacrimal system in your eye work well ?

Yes nasal allergy can contribute to it.

You need to be investigated for thyroid disease also as it can also cause dry eye . Then we need to do a schrimer and K5 test and also a test for mebomian glands which help in preventing the evaporation of tear film . A well qualified ophthalmologist will help you in all of this . Depending upon the grade of severity eye drops are given as there are many categories of lubricants dear .

Hope my answer helps you . If you have any follow up query I would love to answer . Regards
