Question: Hello,

I am trying to reach out to you regarding my current health condition which is not getting better and I have been suffering for 1 year. My major problem is shortness of breath as I was told I have mild asthma. I do get asthma attack as well and also fatigue if I do any work or if I speak for little long I get shortness of breath.
I have PCOS, pre diabetic and feel heaviness on my entire right side with abdominal pain with gallbladder issues.

Can you please advise as I have shown to many doctors an i have the results I can show to you if required.

I just want to get to back to normal self. Will I be able to get back to normal life? Please help

Exclude iron difficiency anemia

Dear Ma’am, I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns but I would like to exclude iron difficiency anemia as a cause of your shortness of breath. so, please get a CBC blood test to check on your hemoglobin level.
If iron difficiency anemia was excluded then , the shortness of breath could be controlled by corticosteroid inhaler in daily basis.. if inhalers failed to improve the symptoms then you might need systemic beta blockers or corticosteroids to control your symptoms.. I hope you find this helpful..

Thank you for responding to my email. I have been provided with Asmanex by my Pulmonary doctor which did not help much. They have also done some tests on me would you like to go over the blood test results done on me and Pulmonary tests.

I can share those results with you, please advise on a secured method of sending over the medical records so that it reaches durectly to you.

Hello,

I have uploaded the documents related to my Pulmonary issues and latest blood report.

I do have other problems too like PCOS, Pre-Diabetic, Gallbladder issue, I am missing my periods but this breathing issue is hurting me the most. I was taking Metformin earlier but my Family Practitioner advised me to stop it since then I am missing periods and all other problems also started. My entire right side feels heavy and pains a lot.
Now due to this pain and all I am told to have Duloxetine 20 mg/once a day. I am not sure where to begin. I feel so tight on my chest that feels like mucus is there. I did take Guifenecin as recommended by Doctor but has side effetcs. This is something I never had in my life and all these diseases are new after I came to this country in 2015 December.

Please advise on what I should do.

Hello again...

I have gone through the reports attached... As you are stating that your symptoms have worsened since you have moved into the new place and since worsening asthma could be triggered with environmental triggers, I would recommend that monitor closely any source of allergens such as mold, funguses, pollen grains, insects, furry toys or furniture...

Treating medications will not be very effective in the presence of a constant trigger... Also, I would recommend that you refer to your doctor for systemic corticosteroids therapy in order to control your symptoms...

Along with this, it seems that you are suffering from a UTI which needs an antibiotic treatment based on the results of your urine culture...

UTI is urinalysis tract infection which is very common in females at your age.. This can be easily treated with antibiotics for 14 days .. to detect the best antibiotic to treat the infection, a urine culture together with a culture and sensitivity test...

Duloxetine is an antidepressant, please refer to your doctor if you feel that it is not beneficial.. I hope you find this helpful..

Hello Doctor,

I have had blood tests and was told I have thin blood there for which I was provided with antibiotic. But this current situation which I am is total mess, I don't feel energetic I used to feel. I get shortness of breath and feel tired all the time if I do tiny activities. Can you please let me know what does these symptoms refer to. Is there anything serious going on inside me. Because my entire right side feels pain, starting from toe to head. I always feel dull pain.

This was not the case earlier, since last 1 year I am having all this. I started with nerve pain and pain on my leg. I used to have tear on my rectum while passing bowel so was advised to take Polyethyl glycol and have been taking it now.

Now this pain has reached my head. What could be the reason for this, I also have PCOS, I am prediabetic and miss periods most often.

I just want to be cured.

I would recommend that you get a chest ct scan to exclude lung pathology or tumors, along with an abdominal CT to exclude a Hiatal hernia and a ct scan on your lumbar vertebrae to exclude lumber disc prolapse. if excluded then please refer to a psychologist as these symptoms might be due to anxiety. Hello Doctor,

CT scan has too much of radiation in it. Is there any other way to determine the root cause. I have PCOS and also pre diabetic. I was taking metformin because of that. Then my Primary care doctor advised me to stop Metformin and I started missing period and started having abdominal pain. Once I had to go to emergency room due to that. Can these all be related? Will Duloxetin and Metformin help me in this case. I was told to do MRI of my Hip, Abdomen with contrast and Pelvis, since I relocated to a new state I could not do that.

Dear Ma’am, hello again.. Stopping metformin is most probably the cause of missed periods and abdominal pain ( which is probably due to development of ovarian cysts which could be painful) . so I would recommend that you refer to your doctor to return to taking metformin and to schedule for a pelvic ultrasound to exclude the ovarian cysts.. Duloxetin is an antidepressant.. I hope you find this helpful..
