Question: Hello,

I crashed my longboard 2 days ago, and got 10 road rash abrasions%E2%80%94lost top layer of skin. I hurt my left knee (it hurts to bend it, I lose strength) but I feel like that%E2%80%99s healing on its own.

My main concern lies in 2 abrasions. My large knee wound (pictured 2 days ago red, and this morning white/red) leaked a lot of Serous fluid 2 days ago when it was fresh. Now, when I changed bandaids today, there was some thick yellow sticky stuff on the bandaid. an abrasion on my arm today had a kot of thick sticky yellow stuff on bandaid (pictured).

Should I see a doctor? Is the thick cloudy yellow stuff an infection? the other wounds only have slight yellow, and are mostly clear fluid (pictured)

Brief Answer:
Its ok, its not infection its just serous fluid from abraison

Detailed Answer:
Dear sir

Don't worry, it's just a serous fluid from your abrasion. You should keep changing your bandaid daily , and apply betadine ointment over it after cleaning it. I would also suggest to take Amoxicillin and clavulanic acid combination to prevent any infection. These are prescription drugs and if you feel gastritis due to antibiotic take any antacid along with it.

Hope it will be fine in a week.

Thanks
