Hello. I Currently Have Some Concerning Issues With My Mouth.

I currently have some concerning issues with my mouth.
My soft palate is somewhat of a yellow/orange colour. Just before my tonsils, (I believe maybe palatopharygneal) also shows redness on both sides. Mildy uncomfortable. My mouth had once little red dots on my hard palate. Hard
I'm quite concerned as to what it could be and the soft palate has been orange/yellow for quite some time now.
Presence of fat below the mucosa gives it an orangish tinge
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for posting the query
I have examined the image thoroughly and my opinion is as follows. The pale yellow or orangish tinge over the palate is due to the presence of fat and lymphoid tissue just beneath the thin mucosa. Don’t worry! It’s perfectly normal.
In case of Jaundice, the palate looks bright yellow along with the icterus in the eyes.
The left tonsil seems to be inflamed compared to the right. You would require medications only if it is hurting you. Meanwhile, you should drink frequent sips of warm water to reduce the inflammation. Avoid chilled food and beverages.
Hope this answers your query; I would be available for the follow up queries.

I have some other symptoms that I have forgotten to mention.
I experience flu like symptoms / other symptoms that may be related to my cause
- mucus from nose (very bright yellow/tinge of brown and it is VERY THICK)
- Lingering headache
- Sometimes a metallic taste in my mouth
- I constantly have foul smelling breath even after I have brushed, it doesn't take long
- Now developed a dark red spot / area the size of a small finger nail on my hard palate
Thank You for reviewing an answering my original question.
Features of Sinusitis
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome back
The above features described you fits into the diagnosis of Sinusitis.
1. The fetor and the metallic taste you get is due to the mouth breathing. When there is nasal congestion, an individual tends to open the mouth and breath. This causes drying up of the saliva leading to foul smell from the mouth. Drinking frequent sips of warm water, avoiding coffee and fizzy drinks, helps in reducing the symptoms.
2. The presence of thick mucus and the headache asserts the diagnosis of Sinusitis. You need to use saline nasal spray as and when required, to clean the nose and help in easy clearance of the sinus secretions. Steam inhalation, is also highly beneficial in clearing the sinus secretions, opening of the sinuses and reducing the headache.
3. The red spot could be either an inflamed minor salivary gland or a granulation following the sinus infection. Do not worry about this. Drinking frequent sips of warm water would be highly beneficial.
4. If the symptoms do not improve with the above home remedies, you would require consultation of a good ENT specialist.
Hope this clarifies your doubts. Wish you good health.
