Hello I Experienced A Panic Attack On May 26. Symptoms
Question: Hello I experienced a panic attack on May 26. Symptoms were chest tightness left side and jaw numbness/heavyness with short breathing. Had ekg and xrays taking everything looked good. I still have lingering jaw heavyness/numbness. It doesn’t hurt no pain. It just feels numb. Is this still anxiety?
Brief Answer:
It can be related to anxiety.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
I think the jaw numbness and heaviness may be related to anxiety.
Taking count that ecg and x-rays are ok then it is only ralated to anxiety.
I also can advice you to check your thyroid function because hyperthyroidism may cause increased heart beat .
Managing anxiety may cause also improvement on jaw numbness.
Hope I have answered the question.

Thank you for the information. It seems my symptoms correlate with that. What kind of doctor should I specifically seek out. I am new to an area so looking for a doctor. But I would like to know what to look for in one
Brief Answer:
Psychotherapy may help.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and thank you for asking again.
I think you need to visit an endocrinologist to check thyroid function first doing T3, T4, TSH.
If everything comes out normal you need to visit a psychiatrist which can help you with psychotherapy or even anti-anxiety drugs.
