Question: Hello,

I got a growth under my armpit about 3 days ago about the size of a zit I didn’t think to much of it, but now it’s about the diameter of a dime. It’s red, but it doesn’t hurt at all and it’s soft to the touch but pressing on it feels hard.

Brief Answer:
sebaceous cyst, folliculitis or others.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services.
I have read your query and here is my advise.

* As per my surgical experience, dime size growth of red appearance under
armpit indicates possible soft tissue lesion as sebaceous cyst, folliculitis or
others.

Kindly provide me further details so that I can answer your query completely.

1. History of shaving of axilla hair in recent past period ?
2. Is there associated itching ?
3. Any noticeable changes of overlying skin as warmth or else ?
4. If possible and no objection, providing the photograph of the growth as an
attachment during follow up discussion would be greatly appreciated.

Awaiting for your response.
Regards.
