Question: Hello. I had a question that I really want answering. Over the past few days, I have had slight twitches while bending my thumbs. It lasted sporadically over a couple of days. After these two days, the twitches went away but I randomly had a dizzy spell where my head was spinning intensely. This spinning lasted for a few seconds and this hasn't occurred. What are the reasons for this and should I be worried? I am a 25 year old male, working at a desk job and slightly overweight.

Brief Answer:
Probably the symptoms are related to stress.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I understand your concern.

There are many medical conditions related to your symptoms.

One of the common conditions is stress or anxiety.

Other possible causes can be low magnesium or kidney disease.

So, I recommend some examinations.

I suggest a magnesium level, a creatinine level and azotemia level to check the kidney function.

Meanwhile, I suggest to take a magnesium and vitamin B supplement.

I also recommend to drink liquids and eat a balanced diet.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
