Hello, I Had Asked A Few Weeks Ago About Hyperemesis

Question: Hello,

I had asked a few weeks ago about hyperemesis and numerous other symptoms including dizziness, nausea, fatigue, Ear and Eye pressure with headaches, etc.

I was able to go to the doctor as my insurance finally kicked in and it after cessation of smoking marijuana, the vomiting has stopped (which confirmed the Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome).

The doctors felt the thyroid nodule and said they feel benign but ultrasound is sitll over a month away. I was prescribed antibiotics as they believed my eustachian tube was backed up due to severe sinus infection. I am almost done with the antibiotics and the headaches, ear pressure, eye pressure and eustachian tube drainage has not subsided.

I have also developed a wheezing in my throat, not my chest, when I take deep breaths in. I am not having trouble breathing, but the wheezing is bothersome.

Is it possible that they aren't bacterial infections in my ear/eye/sinuses? Is it also possible that my ear infection is bad enough to not be handled by the antibiotics given to me? Is it possible that the thyroid nodule in my throat is causing the wheezing by obstructing my trachea?

Thanks,
XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Respiratory symptoms

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX and welcome back to Ask a Doctor. I am a different doctor than with whom you asked questions before, but I have read your query and here is my advice.
I am glad that you stopped using marijuana. The more it is used and the more doctors study its effects the more is learned about the effects it has on memory, loss of motivation, depression, among other symptoms.
The commonly prescribed antibiotics to treat ear and sinus infections ought to be effective.
A thyroid nodule would not compress the trachea enough to cause wheezing.
Do you have cough, runny nose, fever?
Problems seeing or hearing?
The eustachian tube is orientated downward connecting the back of the ear to the back of the throat. Where is the drainage?
I hope I have been able to answer some of your questions. Please reply if you have more.
I shall wait for you to respond.
