Hello I Have A COVID Question. My Daughter Wants To
Question: Hello I have a COVID question. My daughter wants to come home today from college but we are nervous she mah have been exposed to the virus. Her friend’s boyfriend’s roommate tested positive yesterday. She saw her friend on Wednesday. Her friend tested negative yesterday ( he took the test on Thursday results given on Friday) is there any way my daughter being with him Wednesday could develop the virus? I was thinking at first yes but then when she actually was with him ( Wednesday ) he didn’t have it yet ( if he does develop it )
Brief Answer:
You may feel safe on meeting her.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
As I can understand your daughter's friend is a contact with covid19 positive person.
Actually the friend tested negative a day after he met your daughter.
In this case I believe that she is not at risk of having covid19 since the day when they met he was negative and couldn't have transmitted the virus to her.
You may feel safe on meeting her .
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
