Hello. I Have A Mole That Just Appeared Next To

Should be biopsied
Detailed Answer:
Hello, I'm Dr. Branch, thanks for using Ask a Doctor. With skin lesions, we usually are most concerned about melanoma, and want to make sure we do not miss an early melanoma lesion. The characteristics of a skin lesion when considering melanoma include asymmetry, border irregularities, color variation, diameter greater than 6mm, and recent changes. Your lesion appears asymmetric, the border looks fairly smooth, but there are variations in the color. The size is also fairly large. But most importantly, with the changes you describe, I would recommend that you get this checked out, and a decision made about whether it needs to be biopsied or not. While this is not an emergency, I wouldn't wait too long, and hopefully you can get in to see someone within a week.
I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any questions about any of that, and I would be glad to discuss it with you further.
