Hello:: I Have A Strange Like Tingling Around The Outside
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: Hello::
I have a strange like tingling around the outside of the mouth area, a bit of tingling inside on the lips, and a very fine white film on tongue.
On the bottom of my lower inner lip there was a purple spot when all of this happened a week ago but in a few days it dissipated...
No bumps or anything of the sort just went away.
I have been reading up that it might be shingles sans the rash..I did have it a few years back but heard it can come back especially women my age which is 64...
I sort of have a slight burning sensation on tongue, dryness etc.
I just took my blood pressure which is 123/86
Thank you XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Shingles is possible.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
I believe the symptoms you are experiencing can be the first symptoms of shingles.
I think the bumps may start in few days, red and fluid filled bumps.
When the bumps start to appear then the diagnosis is confirmed and you may need to use antivirals such acyclovir tablet.
Also you may take acetaminophen or ibuprofen for pain.
Having shingles in the past may cause reoccurrences often.
Doing shingles vaccine is recommended .
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Brief Answer:
The rash may appear later
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and thank you for asking again.
The tingling and strange feeling may occur before the rash start so I think you may have rash appear soon.
as per your description, I can't find it to be related to anything else.
You can't start an antiviral without having the rash.
